About Grandmaster Hovey Williams
Grandmaster Hovey Williams is a seasoned energy healer, licensed counselor, Chinese herbalist, ordained interfaith healing minister, author, speaker, and teacher. Grandmaster Williams has studied more than 60 systems of energy healing, becoming certified in many of them. He subsequently developed his own system—Energology℠—to overcome the shortcomings of the other systems, and to develop a better and more comprehensive way of providing safe and efficacious energy healing to clients. Grandmaster Williams has been providing energy healing services to the public for 30 years, and has trained energy healers all over the world for almost that long. He has human patients throughout the United States and in more than 20 countries. He provides concierge energy healing. He has healed famous people, politicians, business moguls, billionaires, and is considered the healer of the healers and the teacher of the teachers. He gets the job done.
He has specialized experience healing horses including athlete horses and race track winners. He foaled the son of Seattle Slew. He developed an effective energy healing protocol for healing Equine Protozoal Meningitis (EPM). He has healed farm animals including cows, alpaca, pigs, goats, and chickens; and domestic animals including dogs, cats, monkeys, ferrets, snakes, and exotic birds.
He holds a master of science degree in clinical psychology, and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in private practice. He is a certified counseling supervisor. He is further certified in the specialty of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. He has also taken advanced courses in psychopharmacology; neuroanatomy; the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of illicit drugs; as well as courses in drug and alcohol abuse treatment. He has performed individual therapy, couples counseling, family therapy, group therapy, drug and alcohol counseling, counseling for work-related EAP programs, career counseling, and more. He has also completed cutting edge coursework in the newly emerging field of Energy Psychology. His theoretical orientation is a synthesis of inner child work, primal therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy. He integrates Asian and Western psychologies, and provides his patients with a true depth therapy, clearing out deep layers of past and present “sludge.” He can bring people through their current situation, and help them to reach their highest potential of self-actualization.
Grandmaster Williams completed additional graduate level studies in traditional Oriental medicine to better understand the foundations of energy dynamics as they apply to energy healing. This included coursework in traditional Chinese medical theory; traditional Chinese medical diagnosis; traditional Chinese herbal medicine phytochemistry; traditional Chinese herbal medicine formulary; traditional Chinese herbal medicine treatment; acupuncture; moxibustion; gua sha; cupping; tuina anmo theory and practice; tuina anmo hand techniques; qigong; as well as biomedicine courses in botany; clinical biochemistry; biophysics; musculoskeletal anatomy; neuroanatomy; visceral anatomy; endocrinology; clinical counseling 1; clinical counseling 2; and research design and statistics.
Beyond his graduate studies in Oriental medicine, he also studied advanced traditional Chinese herbal medicine applications with a grandmaster herbalist for 15 years, and pursued an additional two years of private training in traditional Chinese medical theory, diagnosis, and treatment from a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine from Xi’an, China, who had been the personal doctor to the President of China. He has completed coursework in the field of Naturopathic Medicine including Naturopathic herbal medicine; herbal medicinal wildcrafting; iridology; lymphatic drainage massage therapy; integrative lymphatic drainage for cancer treatment; advanced tuina anmo, transpersonal psychology 1; Transpersonal Psychology 2; and transpersonal psychotherapy.
He studied massage therapy including medical circulatory massage therapy; Swedish massage therapy; Jin Shin Do; Thai medical massage therapy 1; and Thai medical massage therapy 2.
He also studied kampo, Esalen technique, haikomi body-centered psychotherapy, reflexology, tuina, multiple courses in lymph drainage massage, and others.
He was a featured presenter at a medical conference for medical interpreters. He helped develop college curriculum for a first-of-its-kind medical interpreter training program, and lectured in the clinical courses for this program at Waubonsee Community College. The program went on to become the template for the national qualifying board exam for medical interpreters nationwide. He also stood at the intersection of law, ethics, and hospital administration as he lobbied to change the laws which eventually required certified interpreters to be on-staff in hospitals. This helped the non-English speaking communities immensely.
Grandmaster Williams has studied both medicine and religion abroad in China. He studied Vajrayana Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism, Hinayana Buddhism, and Zen Buddhism. He served as the United States Foreign Director to the Shao-Lama Temple, China, for pedagogy, ethical cultivation, and spiritual development. He studied Buddhism very deeply, training for ordination. He went through the full ordination training including studies in Abhiddharma—Buddhist psychology and philosophy, as well as significant training in multiple systems of meditation, including advanced Tibetan 5-channel energy meditation. Ultimately, he decided he wished to maintain a secular life, and accepted a lay ordination in Buddhism. He teaches Buddhist meditation courses. He also studied Taoism quite thoroughly through the White Cloud Taoist Temple in China as well as later with a grandmaster instructor in the United States. He became an ordained Taoist priest. He later received Christian ordination in the U.S. in the interfaith healing ministry. He has completed additional training and studies in Hinduism and in Ayurvedic medicine.
He has studied many forms of martial arts, and holds a third-level black sash in kung-fu. He is a certified instructor with many years of experience practicing and teaching the martial arts.
In college he double-majored in English literature and education. He also received a teaching minor in German (through fluency). He is a certified teacher with two separate certifications in secondary and middle school education. He taught for three years in a specialized alternative school for students coming from prison, drug rehabilitation, and mental health institutions from multiple counties. He is endorsed in language arts, social sciences, communications, German, and history (qualified). He has also taught and studied television production, radio production, computers, poetry, and speech communications.
He is an avid singer-songwriter and composer. He found success in the music industry and toured with back-up dancers, an acting troupe, and special effects such as lasers, fog, lights, pyrotechnics and a screen show. He was also a DJ on WEPS 88.9 FM in Elgin, Illinois. He is a novelist, poet, and playwright. He is fluent in English, German and medical Chinese.
